More Balloon Fiesta, a New Sketch Blog and a New Love!!!!

So here are some more pics of balloon fiesta like I promised - I'll try not to write an essay so you can enjoy the pics and not have to read tons!!!

First off a short video just showing you how many balloons were up at one time - now keep in mind some had already landed and some not lifted when I took this but there were supposed to be an estimated 500 to 700 balloons up Saturday morning (sorry for the poor video quality but it was taken with my digi camera not a camcorder).

And now a slideshow of pics to save room on the page.........LOL

I mentioned a new sketch blog didn't I? Why yes, I did!!! My friend Vee has started up a sketch blog and I must admit she has some fabulous sketches going on over there and this week she even has a prize!!! So, if you are looking for a little inspiration I totally suggest checking her out - you won't be disappointed with her sketches (not to mention she is just a doll)!!! When you visit let her know I sent ya over and def leave me a comment letting me know if you use one of her sketches as I'd love to see your creations!!!!

And for my new love...............................................

I fought this for a long time, I told everyone no way I'd use it because of technicalities that "could" occur, blah blah blah!!! But..............my friend Aymee has been doing some amazing stuff with it and well, I couldn't resist any longer!!! Technically I was resisting but I mentioned it to my darling husband and he had it loaded on my puter this morning with a little message to me - how sweet is that??? OK, so what is it that I am in love with???? SCAL!!! Sure Cuts A Lot!!! And boy does it!!! I fought it because I was unsure of the program since it was not endorsed or made by ProvoCraft and by using it voids any warranties you may have with your Cricut and um yeah..........blah blah blah right!!!

Anywho, I don't have a clue yet how to make my own files to cut with it but Aymee has an SVG blog with files on it so I borrowed one of her creations and basically lifted it with a couple changes just to try out my new toy. I really love love love the Halloween boardbook she made a couple weeks ago for our DT projects at The Cuttlebug Spot and thought that would make a great first project - especially since I have always loved making boardbooks. I can tell you now, her file was EXTREMELY EASY to use for a first timer and I can not wait to make more board books using this software including a special one I have in mind but just need to learn how to actually make the files.

Enough chatter, I wanna share my lift of Aymee's Halloween board book - minus all the embossing on the pages, I really just kept it simple focusing on the cuts and paper piecing but next time have bigger plans!!!

Book assembled - well, I haven't put ribbons on the binding yet (oh yeah, this is totally giving me reason to get the Bind It All now, I MUST MUST MUST get the BIA to go with this) but that isn't the focal point at the moment:

Just to cover all bases...................

I am not the best scrapper out there. I don't claim to be totally original, I lift from many places and in many forms from color combinations, to product usage, to technique and so forth. I try to be fair to all scrappers out there and mention them when I lift from them - now keep in mind, there are so many people out there scrapping, card making and altering items that naturally more than one person will have similar ideas. When I mention lifting, or casing as some call it, I mean when you intentionally take a design you see and duplicate it exactly or only change up the coloring........KWIM???

With that said..........

Thanks and happy scrappin'!!!!
