A couple days late...........

..............and behind as usual!!! I promised to show my DT card release for Am I A Scrap Addict - Sketches a couple days ago but I let it slip by me!!!! Deanne always provides us with the most awesome and challenging sketches so make sure you stop by and see what she has going on!!!

OK, here is the sketch I was to work from this go around:

Photobucket

And here is my card:

Photobucket

This card was so fun, but easy to make. I really love my little turkey guy!!! You can't tell from this angle, I need to learn to take better angled pics...lol, but the sign and wings are layered slightly but the head and his little gobbler hanging down are mounted on foam dots for dimension - he is just too cute in person!!!

Just a few more days and my guest DT will be announced and my card featured. The more I look at the card I submitted the more I don't like it. I know I am so critical of my work but I am really not feeling good about the card. Maybe I will remake it and submit another before then!!! LOL

OK, off to work on some school work!!!

Take care and happy scrappin'!!!!

Queen Slacker

That is me!!! I've gone 9 days without posting anything!!! So, recap of the last 9 days and what I've gotten done!!!

I went to a crop last Thursday with the girls I met through a Meet Up group and had a blast. I finished a 2 page LO for my SBS group and got 2 other LO's almost done - forgot the ribbon and embellies for 1 and was working on the other when it was time to clean up (I have finished them - yay me!!!)

Friday I woke up unable to move my right hand hardly at all!!! Everyone joked about carpal tunnel but I almost think I broke it but don't know how. I had some bad swelling the first few days but it has gone down for the most part and only one part of the wrist is hurting now, a week later. Too bad we don't have insurance or I'd have it looked at. Oh well, a $20 brace from WalMart has seemed to help so I pretty much do everything except shower with it.

Saturday my Dad had my Mom call and have us come down to go out to dinner because Sunday (the 9th) was my Mom's 65th birthday!!! Wow, I can not believe she is 65 and neither can Cait. When Cait realized it the first thing out of her mouth was oh my Mom, Nana is OLD!!!! Yeah, my Mom didn't find that as funny as the rest of us!!! LOL

While visiting Saturday night and Sunday morning I realized that their house needed a good cleaning. My Mom seems to be in a state of depression since putting their dog to sleep last year at Thanksgiving and being forced to retire due to her health. The dog was my cousin's dog and he passed away in 97 so his Mom took her and then she passed away in Sept 2002 just a month before Rob and I got married. My Mom and my aunt (Dad's sister) were best friends so that was all she had left to hold onto of my aunt. Needless to say this past year she has just let a lot of things go and I decided to go down and help out a couple days this week. I got one room completely cleaned out and a little over 20, yeah you are reading it right, 20 black trash bags of stupid crap thrown out!!! Now for another room maybe this week - they have company coming for the holidays and with all the crap just piled in places there isn't much room for company and maneuvering around the house.

I got home yesterday and we've had internet problems since. Seems every time it storms the wireless internet we use has connection issues for a couple days so I've not been able to do much other than check my email!!! I am so behind on my message boards I just know it!!!

Here are the LO's I finished and got started on at the crop, the scallop circle and one of Cait are the ones I finished up here at home:

Our Road Trip to New Mexico (yeah, I finally scrapped it...LOL)

Photobucket

A challenge at Just Scrappin' - the challenge was to scrap a circle layout - I love my scallops, I couldn't resist adding them!!!

Photobucket

And for some reason I can not remember what challenge I did for this LO - I know I used a challenge somewhere but yeah, can't remember where right this minute!!! I'm almost wondering if it was a sketch challenge at JS but have to go check here in a few!!!

Photobucket

My DT card reveal at Am I A Scrap Addict - Sketches comes out on Sunday so check back for a posting of that and then on the 21st my guest DT will be revealed at Let's Scrap!!! I've also submitted for another card DT and am thinking about submitting for one more!!! I can so easily whip out a card so they are perfect for me even though I'd love the chance to be on a LO DT again someday!!!

OK, off to see what I've been missing out on and work on my tag swap for the Meet Up group I'm in. They are due tomorrow but I'm going to have to mail them out so I need to finish them up tonite so I can overnight them to our swap hostess!!!

Happy Scrappin' all!!!!

New Caardvark Challenge........

.......is up!!! This time around the challenge is Chocolate!!! I'm usually not so on top of challenges but as soon as I saw this challenge this morning it clicked and I just had to do it!!! So, here is my card:

Photobucket

And the inside of the card:

Photobucket

I used the Cricut cartridge Doodlecharms and the Cricut Design Studio to weld two cones together and cut out to form a card. The rest of the materials are: Cardstock by Bazzill, Patterned Papers by Cloud 9 Design, Frosted Stickles by Ranger and Icon Gems by MAMBI.

Tomorrow I have a crop to attend with some lovely ladies I've met through a local scrapping group so I need to get my stuff ready to take. I am attempting to pre plan pages and such a little better so I might, key word is might, get some stuff accomplished this time instead of just chatting the day away!!!

Have a great day!!!

Caardvarks Challenge

I've been meaning to get around to this for over a week and I have simply failed until tonite. The challenge at Caardvarks is to create a card using a monogram. I have always loved the mini note cards I see people using to send quick notes to people and have wanted to make some but never sat down and took the time. So, tonite in between classes I did it!!! The picture isn't the best because it is late and dark outside and the only good lamp to use with the light box is in Cait's room and she is in bed so...........I did the best I could in order to get this uploaded in time for the midnight cutoff!!!

Here is my monogram card:

Photobucket

I used Cherry Arte paper, ribbon from my stash and my Just Rite monogram stamper - I've had it since BEFORE we moved from Austin (used my last coupon on it right before we moved while at Archivers) and just opened it tonite!!! I really love this little thing and have been browsing the site looking at the addons for it!!! So much fun and so easy to use!!! I can not wait to finish up the entire card set and the little box I have set aside to alter to hold them!!!

OK, off to work on stuff for the crop on Thursday and then to bed!!!

Happy Scrappin'!!!!

Cliffhanger

Ever start working on a project and visualize it to be something extraordinary and fabulous??? Then when it hits paper it is just there??? Well, this layout is one of those for me. I had this idea in my head for a couple weeks and then Cristal at Just Scrappin' popped up our sketch for the month and I was thrilled. I knew the picture would work wonderful with her sketch so I got started. By the time it was all said and done I was considering trashing it because it was not what I had envisioned. But, I decided that it wasn't THAT bad and why waste work done. So, without further chattering, I'll let you decide on what you think about it:

Photobucket

The picture is from a month or so ago when the cat decided to scale my scrappy cubbies. As soon as I clicked the picture she went flying because the snap startled her. The bottom picture was after the fall giving lovies - which is basically what the arrow says.

So what are you working on? I have a couple cards I want to do and another layout or two but trying to hold off since I'm going to a crop on Thursday. I want to be able to actually accomplish something this time instead of do nothing but talk so I am going to put together some page kits to take with me so I don't have to sit and think about what I want to scrap. Of course I'll take card stuff too in case for some miracle I actually finish the pages I plan then I will at least have something to do.

Have a great day!!!

Happy Scrappin'

Sketch Challenge!!!

I made this card sketch the other day so I could post a card challenge over at Just Scrappin'. I decided I would post it here as well and give my blogger friends a chance to win a scrappy prize!!!

Here is the sketch:

Photobucket

And my card example:

Photobucket

The challenge here on my blog will go through 11/15 with the drawing happening on 11/16. For the initial card you link back to this post you will get 1 entry into a random drawing for a scrappy prize. For every 2 cards after that I will put your name in 1 extra time.

As a bonus, since I really LOVE LOVE LOVE Pink Cat Studio Stamps, if you use a PCS stamp AND the challenge they have posted to use non traditional colors to make a Christmas card and you post on your blog that you have completed the cards you are posting for my sketch challenge AND the PCS blog challenge then I will give you 1 entry for every card you make that has a PCS stamp on it!!!

So, who is up for a sketch challenge??? I thought this would be fun and hope some of you who stop by regularly will jump in and play along but if things are too hectic right now I totally understand!!!

Have a great weekend and Happy Scrappin'!!!

Just to cover all bases...................

I am not the best scrapper out there. I don't claim to be totally original, I lift from many places and in many forms from color combinations, to product usage, to technique and so forth. I try to be fair to all scrappers out there and mention them when I lift from them - now keep in mind, there are so many people out there scrapping, card making and altering items that naturally more than one person will have similar ideas. When I mention lifting, or casing as some call it, I mean when you intentionally take a design you see and duplicate it exactly or only change up the coloring........KWIM???

With that said..........
