CB Spot Monday!!

It's Monday again and we girls at The Cuttlebug Spot were honored to work from a sketch provided by our very own Aymee!! I used my Snowflakes CB Embossing folder for the teal background and some dies to cut out the snowflakes. I also put some Stickles on this to give it a little more pizazz! The papers are from a DCWV stack I got last Christmas and both the image and sentiment are from Stampin' Up - I really love the image set as there are the elves, snowmen and reindeer.

Here's the sketch we used - I flipped it to the right so it was on its side:

And my card:

and the Copics used - the E00 & E02 are in the background just laying there, not sure where my brain was when I bundled them up **shrug**:

In typical Karen fashion, I used this card for another challenge as well over at Cute Card Thursday where the challenge was to use Teal and Red - this is as close to teal and red that I could get.

Thanks for stoppin' by and happy scrappin'!!!

A Friend...............

.................is someone who brings out the Best in You.

Wow, how true is that? A good friend is hard to find so if you have one, take it to heart and appreciate him/her. I think my little PB Hedgie is finding friendship in this little snail!!!

I completed this challenge for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog - I love my PB stamps but haven't pulled them out much lately. I saw the sketch for this weeks challenge and just lurved it so had to grab a hedgie and create!

And how about a couple pics of my kiddos - today we went school clothes shopping to take advantage of the tax free weekend sales and they made a pretty good haul.

The first is my darling Caitlin - I can not believe that my baby is going to be 18 in less than, oh my, 6 months ***sigh***. It seems like just yesterday she was toddling around following me like a puppy and keeping me on my toes. Well, not so much on my toes anymore as she is a good girl but the time has flown by and it makes me realize she isn't my "little" baby anymore. Oh boy I am queen sappy tonite! LOL So, she decided she wanted a pair of heels to wear and fell in love with these as soon as she saw them. She loves these shoes so much that she wore them from the time we got home until just a bit ago (several hours). I just hope the clutzyness doesn't come out, I'm not ready for another round of a broken leg with her!!!

Now, check out this gorgeously handsome dude. This is my son Dylan - I have been blessed with being his Mom for about 10 years now and remember when I first met him and how small and shy he was. Let's just say he isn't so small OR shy anymore! He and I tend to have our battles but being 2 redheads under one roof it is bound to happen. I am just so proud to be his Mom and hope he realizes how special he is to me............ok, sorry again, getting sappy here. Anywho, his shopping proved to be the most beneficial to him. This shirt (as you'll see in the pic below) was a $30 shirt that he found marked down 90% - yep, 90%!!! He got it for $3 dollars - needless to say he was a bit proud of himself for being thrifty!!!

Dylan:

and his price tag - yes, he made me get a close up to prove it! LOL:

OK, off to work on my final for school that is due Tuesday - I've barely touched it so I need to get my behind busy!!

Thanks for stoppin' by and happy scrappin'!!!

Happy Saturday!!!

What a great day I have had spending the morning scrapping with my daughter! We went to a crop and although we didn't really feel at home there we enjoyed each others company and got several images colored and paper assembled to create the cards when we got home (believe it or not I took only ONE bag and my tool carrier!!) since I didn't have EVERYTHING with me that I usually need.......LOL.....yes, I do NEED it all to work comfortably because as soon as I don't have it I realize I so so so need it!

Anywho - enough chatter, check out my cards!!!

Graduation Time!

Well, I did it! I made it through teller training and graduated today! It was kind of scary because we had to give a presentation in front of the attendees (and fellow graduates) and I'm not the best when it comes to public speaking but............I made it through it with no "visible" ooopppssss's!!! I start work in my store tomorrow morning and am excited but still a little nervous!!!

Another bit of good news.................

Photobucket

That is now a permanent banner for moi!!! One of the ladies has had to step down for a short while and Carly asked me if I'd like to fill her place and become a permanent part of the Charisma Cardz DT!!! Of course I didn't think twice about it because the girls over there are just fantastic!

Thanks for stoppin' by and happy scrappin' - hopefully I have some stuff to show off this weekend but things have been so hectic with school and going back to work I haven't had a chance to do much!!!

More Badge Clips

WOWZERS!!! Both badge clips and all the earrings I made and took into work today sold! Holy cow!!! I did not expect that at all!!! I am so tickled! I also got another custom order for a badge clip so I got that made tonite! I wish I would've had more time to make a couple more and some more earrings but I had tests tonite for my class so only one made!

I really love this one - I put a little more detail in it and would have kept going but I had to keep my costs figured in for the price I quoted!!!

Badge Holders

Today in class our instructor was talking about pretty badge holders. I wasn't sure what she was talking about til she pulled up the Brighton site and showed me - wow! All I can say is they are so so so spendy! I told her I would give it a whirl and see what I could come up with. Now keep in mind, I worked just from stuff I had in my jewelry making supplies so they aren't perfect and they def aren't Brighton but I don't think they are too bad!!! My fav is the butterfly though!!!

What do ya think?

The butterfly:

And the crystal heart:

So be honest and tell me what ya think - they aren't Brighton but I can make them a heck of a lot cheaper! Sorry for the poor pics but I wanted to get pics tonite since I'm taking them in tomorrow and the lighting in our apartment isn't the best for taking pics!

OK, off to bed now as it is getting late and I have to get up early for another day of training. Thanks for stoppin' by and happy scrappin'!!!

The Cuttlebug Spot

It's Monday and typically my day to reveal for The Cuttlebug Spot. I am a little disappointed though, and pissed off to be honest. Nilda, our DT leader over at The Cuttlebug Spot was mailing us out some of the new CB folders that ProvoCraft so kindly donated (check out today's prize too) and my jerk of a mailman did it to me again! He marked my package "Attempted Not Known"!!! What the heck?? I mean I get mail EVERY day, I get NetFlix movies, I get scrappy packages, I get packages from my Mom but once in a while he just chooses to not deliver one!!! So, I didn't get to use the new folders this week for a card but I just couldn't NOT participate. I chose to use a newer to me folder, Argyle, and make this adorable card with it! I hope you like!

Photobucket

And the Copics used:

Photobucket

I really need to get more of the Magnolia, Sarah Kay and Rachelle Anne Miller stamps because I know you are all getting tired of seeing the same images just colored different (heck, I am too!!! LOL)!!! Hopefully in the next few weeks I can get some and mix it up a bit - it isn't like I don't have ANY other stamps I could use!!!

So, out of the new release folders what is your favorite?

Thanks for stoppin' by and happy scrappin'!!!

A Quick House Mouse Card &..............

...............some pics!

First for the card. I graduate from "teller training" on Thursday and thought it would be nice to make a card for each of my classmates (only 7 of us). The challenge at House Mouse this week was a sketch challenge and I loved the simplicity as it allows me to whip these cards out by Thursday.

Here's my card:

Now for some pics!!!

Yesterday morning Rob and I decided to take a drive to relax after working all week and a rough weekend ahead of me with lots of studying for my normal classes PLUS the teller training I am in. All week long on our way to work we've seen hot air balloons and none were in sight....................until we crossed under Paseo Del Norte and there they were - on the ground some full of air ready to launch others just being laid out to begin prep for launching! I was so tickled as I just love them and so want to go up in one some day!!!

Here's the hot air balloon pics I got (well some of them):

And then we were getting ready to leave and saw the Wells Fargo Balloon Team out getting set up - in training we've talked several times about the WF Balloon Team so I was really excited to see them so I had to stay and watch from start to finish - just a few of those pics but I have a bunch!!!!

After all the excitement of the hot air balloons we decided to drive up into the Sandia Mountains - wow is all I can say. Just a few pics from that drive.

From the Sandia's looking towards Moriarity:

From the Sandia's looking over the city of Albuquerque:

Top of the Sandia's looking towards the Tramway that runs up from the base of the Sandia's to the top - I can't wait to ride it!!!

These hummingbirds were up top where we took the above pics at - almost 11k elevation!!!

And a shirt in the gift shop atop the Sandia's where the hummingbirds were (I so freaking love this shirt):

The sign over the gift shop showing the elevation:

This is what is now referred to as the "squabbit" - it has bunny ears, a squirrel body and tail but it HOPS!!! Yes, it hopped across the road like a rabbit!!!

A couple beautiful butterflies we were able to get pics of:

Think we should be careful up there in them woods???

Photobucket

Photobucket

Well if the signs didn't convince you maybe Rob's little friend can!!!!

Photobucket

When I said little I meant HUGE - that snake was one of the bigger rattlers I've ever seen in person and I had to yell at my husband AND whack the crap out of him when he got back in the car cuz he was out throwing rocks and tree branches at the darn thing! I mean, it was for a good reason as we saw 3 ladies probably in their 50's to 60's come from one trail and go down another and walk right past him (we didn't see him til after they had already gone) so we were worried they would come back by and get bit. Finally the forest ranger came by and we showed him and he was like holy crap that is a big rattler - he went and got some hook thing and picked him up and flung him back up into the brush so lets hope he stayed up there!!! Regardless I kept yelling at my husband that the snake could move faster than him so get his butt back in the car!!!!

And now this, is my little friend - yes, I was actually this close to get pics and he wasn't too skittish!!!

Photobucket

Well, besides studying hard that is a peek into our weekend! I hope you all had a great weekend! Thanks for stoppin' by and happy scrappin'!!!

Just to cover all bases...................

I am not the best scrapper out there. I don't claim to be totally original, I lift from many places and in many forms from color combinations, to product usage, to technique and so forth. I try to be fair to all scrappers out there and mention them when I lift from them - now keep in mind, there are so many people out there scrapping, card making and altering items that naturally more than one person will have similar ideas. When I mention lifting, or casing as some call it, I mean when you intentionally take a design you see and duplicate it exactly or only change up the coloring........KWIM???

With that said..........
