March 8, 2008

Another gorgeous day here in Austin, TX!!!! I'm glad to be feeling a bit better - I've been really fighting a heck of a want to be cold and spent more time in bed sleeping than anything else. I still have an off and on cough and some silly intermittent congestion but nothing a squirt up the nose of Zicam doesn't help!!!

On another note, it's been a rough couple weeks emotion wise and I think I might actually be getting past all the turmoil in my life and finding my happy spot again!!! I scrapped today so that was a good start!!!

Woke up this morning and made a quick card to take over to Felicia's Scrapbooks for a Marvy Uchida punch contest she was having.

This is the card:

I also submitted a card I made in the MMFY Survivor contest that I just loved, this one:

While at Felicia's she asked if I would be interested in teaching some classes - I thought that was pretty cool. I'm weighing my options with my schedule of work and the kids to see what I can do. I'd love to get out and teach a class a week and mingle with other scrappy ladies!!!

Cait and I stopped at Hobby Lobby to pick up a couple albums for books I have to custom make (they were 50% off through today) and then stopped at Archiver's - I swear that place is EVIL!!! We picked up some of the new Heidi Grace papers - OMG they are so yummy. Cait got some of the new K&Co. papers too - I started to get them but want to see what she does with them, they are just darling!!! I've bought so much girly themed stuff lately I'm trying to go with darker or more jewel toned colors in the stuff I buy for a little while.

I did get another Baby boardbook finished. This one is for a family member who had a baby on Christmas Day.

So, I got two scrappy things done today, some shopping that didn't need to be done and some quality time with Cait. She's growing so fast so I treasure every chance we get to go out and do girl things!!!

Over and out ya'll - I lose an hour of sleep tonite so I best catch up on it by going to bed early.........LOL..........nah, I'm just getting old and sleep comes earlier!!!! LOL

Happy Scrappin!!!

February 22, 2008

Well, I'm done with the Survivor Contest!!!! I withdrew my name as of this morning due to personal reasons where I can not be confident I can upload in time. I've also decided that the competitive scrapbooking really brings out the mean and ugly in women and I just don't like it. So, with that said, you can now see all my work with no repercussions to me!!!

All items below were created in the MMFY Survivor contest:

Round 4's challenge - A LO any style using at least one picture of you with NO other living thing(s) in the picture. My LO is titled : To Thine Own Self Be True - and guess what, what better way to leave the contest than on a statement like that right???

Photobucket

Round 3's challenge - An altered item using transparency that was clearly visible. We were requested to show the item before altering and after:

This is the before and after, I have to tell you I totally love the after. I loved it so much that I put it on my nightstand beside my new bed....LOL.

Round 2's challenge - A LO using NO pictures of any kind. Really came at a fitting time as our daughter's 16th birthday was the weekend before and I had these awesome papers sitting waiting for me to do something with. I love, love, love how this came out!!!

Here is a pic of inside the journaling folder. The journaling says:

Happy Sweet Sixteen my baby girl!!!

How time flies when you are having fun!!! It seems like only yesterday that you came into my life and really shook things up!!! I was so happy you were here, you were beautiful and just perfect but I was so scared to be a Mom – I just didn’t think I was good enough!!!

I look back over the last 16 years to realize that I’ve not been the perfect Mom. Mistakes have been made. But the one thing that I never slacked on has been my undying love for you!!!

I am so proud of the young woman you have become. You are beautiful, intelligent, quirky, fun and most important of all.............YOU!!!

Please don't change a thing about yourself for anyone!!! Be who you are. Be confident and strong. You can do and be anything you want in life!!!

I love you. I am proud of you. I may not say it enough but don't ever forget it!!! You are my life, my pride and joy and nothing will ever change that!!!

Happy Sweet 16 Cait!!!

Love Mom

Round 1's challenge - 3 greeting cards using plastic that was not a flower and a flower that was not a plastic. In addition the greeting on each had to be different.

In other news the Baby books we've been making are starting to roll out - we've had 3 sell so far and a request for a special order one again as of yesterday!!! Love doing those books!!!

Well, Over and out for now.........I need to veg, maybe have a drink tonite, cry a little more, sleep a little and just hang out with my kids and no expectations from me other than being Mom and wife!!!

January 22, 2008

Well, so much has gone on in the past few days that I haven't taken the time to sit down and chat!!!

I've been very busy working on some scrappy creations - some I hope to sell, others just for fun. I've also done a little more scrappy shopping to get stuff to work on and sell in my office - I have the perfect little nook to set up in and display my stuff and I'm sure some things will sell!!!

Here is something I threw together:

Photobucket

It is one of the paper mache' bags you get at Hobby Lobby - just slapped some Daisy D's patterned papers on it, modge podged and put on a flower!!! Voila!!!

The most exciting news though??? I finally did it - I finally sat down and built my website. After a couple people asked for a link to view my stuff because they were interested in having me do some scrappy work for them I decided I needed to just stop procrastinating and "Get 'Er Done" as Larry would say!!!

I am proud to show you my site................... Memories Unleashed - the site has been there for a while and I've played here and there changing things around but never really made it past the home page until recently!!! Please, check it out and tell me what you think - good, bad or ugly, tell me so I can improve it!!!

Other than that work as usual. Things have slow but it is that time of year. Give it another month and a half and then I won't know which way I'm going for about 4 months due to how busy that time of year is. I really love that time of year though - it is great for business but I also love to stay busy!!

Well, I'm off to do some work now. I'll be updating my website frequently until I get all the bugs worked out so check back often to see what I'm up to!!!

Have a great day!!!

Just to cover all bases...................

I am not the best scrapper out there. I don't claim to be totally original, I lift from many places and in many forms from color combinations, to product usage, to technique and so forth. I try to be fair to all scrappers out there and mention them when I lift from them - now keep in mind, there are so many people out there scrapping, card making and altering items that naturally more than one person will have similar ideas. When I mention lifting, or casing as some call it, I mean when you intentionally take a design you see and duplicate it exactly or only change up the coloring........KWIM???

With that said..........
